Squeals, giggles, wonder, and a room full of little dragons!

On 7 October 2026, I had the joy of conducting a Storytelling with Puppets session for Grades 3 and 4 at Bhavan’s R.K. Saboo Vidyalaya, New Chandigarh, organised by Scholastics.

At the heart of our session was Dragon Mimi, a self-written story about a little dragon who wanted to fly. Through determination, motivation, and lots of trying, Mimi eventually learnt to spread her wings and soar.

From hatching little dragon eggs to hopping like rabbits, stomping like elephants, and flying like birds, the children didn’t just listen to the story—they became a part of it!

And the sweetest moment? At the end, the children lined up, refusing to leave until they had said goodbye to Dragon Mimi.

Mimi Dragon is a part of me- and watching children respond positively to her, always gladdens my heart.

A heartfelt thank you to Scholastic for organising this wonderful session and making the experience possible. And a big thank you to Bhavan’s R.K. Saboo Vidyalaya, New Chandigarh, for hosting us with such warmth and wonderful hospitality.
